Varane Raphael, had been announced as Manchester United's third summer signing ahead of their Premier League opener against Leeds last month, but that was another Frenchman, Pogba, who stole the show that day, with four assists in a five-goal demolition of their bitter rivals.
The midfielder has again spoken on Varane's debut at the club, emphasizing how their relationship goes back further than many people realize.
“The arrival of Raph (Varane) is always positive, especially for the club,” Pogba told Telefoot. “We have a very good relationship, we have known each other for a very long time. I am happy that he is with us and that he brings his experience and qualities.”
Varane's arrival will have pleased United fans all around the world, but the Frenchman will not be regarded as United's most elevated import this summer due to the negligence of his own.
Cristiano Ronaldo completed a remarkable return to the club recently this week, and now he can make his second appearance against Newcastle next week, which Pogba welcomes.
“It’s always a pleasure to play with the best,” he said on sharing a dressing room with Ronaldo this season. “It’s a boost for the team, the level will increase. We want everything to go very well.”
However, The 28-year-old has been a long-term target for the club since 2011, and he eventually joined last month after a lengthy spell in Spain.
