In June 2021, Apple released iOS 15, the most recent version of its iOS operating system, which was launched on September 20, 2021. Redesigned FaceTime capabilities, tools to decrease distractions, a new notifications experience, enhanced privacy features, entire redesigns for Safari, Weather, and Maps, and more are all included in iOS 15.
Move Data to New iPhone:
The latest iOS 15 improves the possibility of moving your data from an existing device to your new iPhone 13 Mini.
To get that done, go to “Settings.”
Scroll down to “Transfer or Reset iPhone.”
The new screen displays “Preparing for New iPhone.” Tap “Get Started” at the screen bottom.
If you have your new iPhone with you, you will see a display showing the transfer order, beginning with “Uploading apps and data to iCloud.”
iCloud Account Recovery Service:
iOS 15 also features an enhanced iCloud recovery service. When you access the service, it will let you know all the iCloud data recovery services, which will help you regain access to some of your data that is not encrypted if you forget your password or device passcode.
To access the service, click “Settings.”
Go to “Apple ID.”
Choose “Password Security.”
You can learn about the iCloud account Recovery service.
Once that opens, scroll down and select “Account Recovery.”
Kindly note there is a limit to the data Apple can help you recover. The reason is that some data, for instance, your health data, screen time information, iCloud keychain, etc., those classes of data are encrypted, and Apple cannot help you get them back. However, you can recover your photos, notes, reminders, and other files from the web.
Account Recovery Contact:
It is an excellent decision to have an account recovery contact to help you regain access to your data.
An “Account Recovery Contact” is someone you trust; over the age of 13 who can serve as an account liaison. Such persons are not expected to access your data but can provide you with the necessary information to regain access to your data.
When adding a recovery contact, you will be required to update to the latest software, all your devices connected to iCloud. However, you do not have access to these devices anymore; you have to remove them from your account in “Settings.”
Group Like Files:
The iOS 15 enables you to group like files together to help you stay organized.
To enable that, click to open “iCloud Drive” from “Settings.”
Locate and click the three ellipsis dots at the top right.
Once that opens, scroll down the options and select “Group by.”
Once that opens, you can group by “Time which is the default,” “Date,” or “Size.”
Grouping your files is particularly necessary if you have many folders containing data in your files app.
Spotlight Searches Enhancement:
In iOS 15, spotlight searches have received an incredible boost.
You now have to lock screen access with spotlight searches. You can now do a spotlight search for web content even when your screen is in a lock position.
You can also uninstall apps from the spotlight position even when you enable screen lock.
Swipe down and search for the app you want to uninstall.
Once that shows up, press and hold to reveal options.
Select “Delete” to uninstall such an app.
